Last night all of the Cowboys played a great game in a hard fought 6-6 tie vs. Packers. Each and every one of you put forth a 110% effort. All of the coaches were extremely proud of the way you played. The offensive line consisting of Will Hahn, Tommy Grosskopf, Brad Weber, Mike Szatkowski, Jake White, Ryan Waldhuetter, and Brady Stromme opened up big holes for the backs all night. Brian Krohn, Jesse Stannard, Conner Maurice and Ben Plahmer all had key runs during the course of the game. The entire team is to be congratulated for putting together an impressive touchdown drive, capped by Ben Plahmer's QB sneak from the one yard line. On defense, Jack Jensen, Austin Omick, Jake Fourness, Jeff Konetzki and Andrew Smith all helped in making key stops time after time against a potent Packer offensive attack. The coaches thoroughly enjoyed working with each and every one of you throughout the course of the season. The most important things we noticed were that you all gave 100% effort all of the time, and that you ALL showed improvement from the beginning of the season to the end. The coaches are very proud to say that we had an opportunity to work with each and every one of you. Thanks for a GREAT SEASON Cowboys!!!!! We hope you had a lot of fun. We will have to wait to see the outcome of the Wednesday night game between the Dophins and the 49ers to see where we placed in the final league standings. We hope to see all of you at the Banquet at HHS in the Cafeteria, 10:15 AM, for pizza and recognition on Saturday, October 27.

The Cowboys suffered another tough loss last night to a talented Steelers team. You are all to be commended on putting forth an outstanding effort. The offensive line did a much improved job of blocking. Way to go Will Hahn, Tommy Grosskopf, Brad Weber, Mike Szatkowski, Jake White, Ryan Waldhuetter and Brady Stromme. The backfield of Brian Krohn, Jesse Stannard, Conner Maurice and Ben Plahmer all did a fine job of blocking for each other. On the defensive side of the ball, Jack Jensen, Andy Smith, Jake Fourness, & Jeff Konetzki all did a fine job of containing an explosive Steeler offensive attack. We denied them 3 extra points, kept their high scoring QB without a score, and continually forced them away from where they wanted to go. If we play like this in our last game of the season against the Packers, we will have a good shot at coming away with a win against the Division leader. See you Monday at 5:00.

It was a tough loss last evening against a tough Lions team. You Cowboys have no reason to hang your heads because you made the great effort to win. Just one less trip here, just one more block there, etc., and the results could easily have been different. The Cowboy defense once again was unbeatable - once again not allowing a score or a first down against it. GREAT JOB COWBOYS!!! Next up are the Steelers, a game which truly should be a hard fought battle. Note, the next game is on Thursday, Oct. 11, not on next Monday. We will practice Thursday, Oct. 4, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM behind the concession stand building at Sussex Village Park. We will also practice on Monday, Oct. 8. The site and time will be given at Thursday's practice.

Congratulations on a hard fought victory over a very tough Bucs squad. Everyone on our Cowboys team deserves a pat on the back and a handshake for a job well done in last night's 6-0 victory. It looked like it might possibly wind up in a tie until Ben Plahmer reached up and snared a line-drive punt and returned it 45 yards for the only score in the game. Conner Maurice ran in the extra point from 3 yards out to cap the scoring for the night. The entire defense gets 5 stars for their performance in stifling the Bucs attack - way to go Jake Fourness, Andy Smith, Austin Omick, Jake White, Jeff Konetzki, Brian Krohn, Ben Plahmer, Jesse Stannard, Brady Stromme, Mike Szatkowski , Conner Maurice and Brad Weber. Tommy Grosskopf, Will Hahn and Ryan Waldhuetter all did a commendable job blocking a fierce defensive line of the Bucs. Next up is a competitive Lions team next Monday at 7 PM. See you guys at practice on Thursday at HHS from 5:30 til 6:15 PM. Remember guys, we ALL need to continue to strive to improve our blocking technique. The player who can make good, driving initial contact, AND then sustain this legal, blocking contact until the whistle blows the play dead, that player is the one part of a total team blocking effort that will help to make our offense unstoppable!! Once again, all of you Cowboys played a great game last night - all of the coaches are proud of your effort and performance! Keep up the outstanding work.

Monday, September 17 The Cowboys turned in another stellar team win this evening over a tough 49ers squad. Facing the best defense that we've seen this year,we hung in there while moving the ball through the middle of the field on the strong running of Jesse Stannard behing some strong blocking. Will Hahn and Tommy Grosskopf had fine games pushing back the defense with their blocking. Our first touchdown was set up by a key 3rd down pass from Ben Plahmer to Brady Stromme, who ran 40 yards after catching the pass before he was "tackled" on the 7 yard line. Ben Plahmer then ran it in from the 3 1/2 yeard line for the score. Brady scored our other TD on a 50 yeard pass play after catching another pass from Ben. Mike Szatkowski and Jake Fourness each had strong games from their interior defensive line positions to lead our team defense in another outstanding effort. For the third time this season, our defense did not give up a first down. We did make one mistake which resulted in giving up an opponent's first score of the season. The Cowboys are evolving into one tough football team. Keep up the great effort guys and continue to strive to improve -- you will be rewarded!!! See you on practice Thursday - 5:30 to 7:00 PM at HHS.

Tuesday, September 11, 2001 Congratulations again to the Cowboys on a great team win last night over the Vikings, 19 - 0! All players are to be commended for a job well done. Ben Plahmer, behind excellent blocking opened up scoring on a 45 yard halfback veer off tackle. Then Jeff Konetzki picked off a pass from his defensive back position and returned it 50 yards for a touchdown. Conner Maurice, again behind excellent blocking, capped off the scoring with his touchdown run. Jesse Stannard had a great game on defense, while consistenly opening holes with his blocking. Jack Jensen and Andy Smith played a great game on the corners from their defensive end positions. Our team defense again was super coming up with 2 interceptions and not allowing the opponent a first down for the second consecutive game. Keep up the great team effort!!!! See you at practice on Thursday at 5:30.

Congratulations to the entire Cowboys team on your victory last night in our first game over the Bills, 25 -0!!! Our blocking improved greatly after our first offensive series, allowing us to score three first half touchdowns. The Cowboys team defense was fantastic, with one interception and not allowing a single first down by the Bills for the entire game!!! Great job guys. Remember, "you haven't done your job if the whistle has blown the play dead and you haven't delivered a sustained block to an opponent!" Practice your blocking technique at home in preparation for our next game on Monday at 6:00 vs. the Vikings.
