On Tuesday, October 17 the Raiders faced a strong Jets team that could not be stopped. The Raider Offense, led by Sam Librizzi at QB, managed a couple of good runs but was held in check the entire night. Max Moody, Sean McGiverin, and Connie Dunlap also got to play QB and made some good runs. Max Moody saved a punt return for a TD by making a fine tackle. The Raider Defense gave way to heavy Jet blocking and strong running. Sean McGiverin prevented an extra point attempt with a good tackle. Kory Sonnemann had one pass defended. Connie Dunlap made a TD saving tackle. Elliot Poenitsch again led the Defense in tackles. To the Raider 3rd Graders: Next year you will be the returning veterans and the leaders on your teams. To the Raider 4th Graders: Next year you move up a level and it will be a whole new experience. It's a tough way to end the season but we hope the kids learned something and most of all HAD FUN. We look forward to seeing them on the field again next year.

On Tuesday (10/9) the Raiders ran up against a strong Dolphin air attack. Max Moody and Sean McGiverin both blocked passes. Sam Librizzi had an excellent game with one blocked pass and two interceptions. Elliot Poenitsch was all over the field and led the team in tackles. Kory Sonnemann and Shaun Heitman also had a significant number of tackles. It was a tough night for the Raider Offense and we couldn't put any points on the board. One more game to go and it's our "Superbowl". Let's play hard and have fun!!

The Raiders put up a hard fought performance against the undefeated Colts. Robbie Mears did a great job at Center and had to go up against probably the largest player in the league. The Raider Offense had a hard time against the swarming Colt Defense but Sam Librizzi, Elliot Poenitsch and Brian Wieloch still had some great runs. Sam Librizzi showed great poise at QB by running with the ball if there was a busted play or the receiver was covered. Christian Williams, Max Moody, Jason Krueger and Chris Durkin ran some good routes and we had a chance to try more passes this game. Shaun Heitman had a good return when the Colts had a short kick-off. The Raider Defense again put up a fine performance with only two let-downs resulting in Colts scores. Kory Sonnemann led the team in tackles. Sean McGiverin had one pass defended. Connie Dunlap had a great game and made some good tackles. Sam Librizzi got his first start at Cornerback and did a good job. Christian Williams had a great punt return. Good job Raiders! GO TEAM!!

The Raiders earned their first win of the season defeating a closely matched Bills team. The Raider Offense, led by Sam Librizzi at QB, scored on the opening drive. Elliot Poenitsch posted a huge gain on the opening play and finished it up later with a TD run. Brian Wieloch also made some fine runs at Runningback. The Offensive line of Kory Sonnemann, Robbie Mears, Adam Pagenkopf, Max Moody, Connie Dunlap, and Jason Krueger created some good holes for our runners to go through. Max Moody not only punted, but also made a touchdown saving tackle on a Bills punt return. Christian Williams showed his blazing speed and got to a punted ball before the other team. Once again, the Raiders put up a tough Defense and only allowed one score. Joe Durica did a great job of covering the Bills Wide receiver. Kory Sonnemann blocked a pass and almost picked another one off. Christian Williams came close to picking off a pass and also made a touchdown saving tackle. Adam Pagenkopf and Sean McGiverin did a great job getting into the Bills backfield. Jason Krueger had a good punt return and almost broke free for a score. The game-winning score came when Kory Sonnemann showed great speed and returned a punt for a touchdown. What an exciting game! Good job Raiders! We're proud of you!!

On Thursday (9/20) the Raiders battled the Vikings in game dominated by Defense. Neither team's Offense could move the ball effectively against the swarming Defenses. Sam Librizzi showed good poise as QB and completed a pass to Jason Krueger, who made a great catch in coverage. Brian Wieloch was a last minute fill-in at Running Back and did a good job. It was a battle for field position the whole night and Max Moody got off some good punts to push the Vikings starting field position back. Christian Williams again showed great hustle and tackled one punt returner as he picked up the ball. The Raider Defense did an awesome job. The 'Front Four' of Robbie Mears, Shaun Heitman, Elliot Poenitsch and Brian Wieloch tore through the Viking offensive line. Adam Pagenkopf and Sean McGiverin blasted in from Defensive End. With Max Moody and Chris Durkin at Cornerback, and a Linebacker core of Kory Sonnemann, Connie Dunlap and Jason Krueger shutting down sweeps and passes, the Viking's could post no big gains. GREAT JOB TEAM! You played hard and never let up. We're proud of you! GO RAIDERS!!

The Raiders lost to a tough Steelers team Thursday night (9/13). Adam Pagenkopf did a good job at center and showed great pursuit after an interception to tackle the ball carrier. Jason Krueger did a good job on the line and would run over to pop the Defensive End that was lined up outside. Christian Williams had the longest run of the day. Sam Librizzi got his first start at QB and did a fine job of running the Offense. The Raider Defense had a tough time stopping the Steelers air attack. Brian Wieloch recorded his first QB sack of the season. Elliot Poenitsch and Kory Sonnemann had one pass defended each. Max Moody filled in for an injured player on Defense and made a great tackle. Connie Dunlap showed great pursuit on the field. Playing Defensive Tackle, she chased the Steelers runner all the way to the end zone and was the closest Raider at the end of the play. We've got 5 more games to go and we're getting better with each play. Let's have a great practice on Tuesday to get ready for the Vikings next Thursday. Go Raiders!

On Tuesday (9/4) the Raiders had a practice game with the Bucs. The Defense performed well, giving up only a few big plays. Christian Williams had an outstanding performance with one interception, one pass blocked and a touchdown saving tackle by chasing down the ball carrier from the opposite sideline. On Offense, Elliot Poenitsch broke lose on a long run for a score. It was a good learning experience for the team and we'll apply this over the next couple of practices to get ready for the Steelers. GO RAIDERS!
