How much time does
it require to be a
Lions Member?

Each member decides how much time he has or is willing to spend on Lions Activities. We have one Club Meeting each month. Although we encourage all members to attend as many meetings as possible, attendance is not required.

We have several fund-raisers each year, the biggest of which is Lions Daze which lasts for two and a half days. We do expect each member to work a shift (3 to 3½ hours) each day of Lions Daze and we also invite each member’s wife to join them if the wives so desire.  Along with Lions Daze, we have an annual Car Show and a Golf Outing.  Although we don't need every member to help with these two fundraisers, we do need help from about half of the membership.

We currently have 32 committees that conduct the business of our club. Each member can be on as few or as many committees as he desires.

We have some members who volunteer a lot of time to Lions Club activities while other members are only able to spend 10 or 20 hours per year to put toward these same activities. Each member is an important part of our club. We understand that in today’s busy world, many people only have a little time that they can spend volunteering for any club or organization. It is important for our club membership to continue to grow so that we can accomplish more for the community without asking members to donate more time than they have available.

Is there a cost to be a
Lions Member?

Yes. Each member is required to pay dues twice a year. The current dues is $8 per month. This covers each members International and District dues and the balance goes to the administrative business of our club. None of the money raised at Lions Daze (or any other fund-raiser that we may have) is used for the administration of our club We also have dinner at our monthly Club Meeting. The dinner is optional for each member and currently the cost is $15.00 per month.

What if I do not want to become a member but would like to help with projects that the Lions Club supports or help at Lions Daze?

That would be great. We have many people that have volunteered their help throughout the years that were not members of our club. Our Motto, "We Serve" pretty much sums up our commitment to our community and we will always accept as much help as is volunteered by both members and non-members alike. Although you would not be eligible for any of the benefits and privileges that our members have, we welcome your involvement in making our community a better place to live.
